I liked the Sticky Notes of Windows and thought I should have something like it on my Ubuntu desktop. I came across Knotes.
KNotes is a program that lets you write sticky notes. The notes are saved automatically when you exit the program, and they display
when you open the program. The program supports printing and mailing your notes.

You can use KNotes to write a to-do list, jot down a phone number, or do anything else that you’d use a pad of paper for.

In my opinion you can use KNotes as Sticky Notes for Ubuntu.

Features of KNotes are:

  • Write notes in your choice of font and background color
  • Use drag and drop to email your notes
  • Can be dragged into Calendar to book a time-slot
  • Notes can be printed
